Since 2012, Gwydion Suilebhan has served as the Project Director of the New Play Exchange for the National New Play Network. The NPX, as it is commonly referred to, is the world’s largest digital library of scripts by living writers. With work from artists in all fifty states and more than 30 countries, the NPX has become an irreplaceable resource for the entire new play sector of the theater community in only a few short years. More than 900,000 users currently have access to the NPX library.
To develop the platform, Suilebhan and the staff of NNPN traveled the country for a year, meeting with a wide variety of theater practitioners—producers, writers, artistic directors, literary managers, dramaturgs, publishers, agents, and directors—to gather input about what would soon become a field-changing tool. Since the launch of the NPX in early 2015, Suilebhan has continued to serve as the chief architect of the platform as it continues to develop. He is also the primary evangelist of the NPX, introducing the platform at conferences and keeping the field apprised of new and upcoming developments.
