Part of what I do is help people roar.
I made this short film (with my friend Gabriel Walsh) for the National Wildlife Federation during my tenure at Threespot. We wanted to help call attention to the effects of the climate change on polar bears, the NWF’s signature species, as it were. We had a terrific time making the film, as you can probably tell. That’s me putting my lungs to the test about halfway through.
The idea was to let simple, authentic storytelling be part of the organization’s fundraising efforts. Nothing is more effective at inspiring action, after all, than stories. Stories have inspired dreams, incited revolutions, prevented wars, established profound relationships, and taught generations of humans how to live and interact with one another. They are, if you ask me, the most powerful cultural artifacts we’ve created as a species. They have to be used carefully.
I would be more than happy to help you tell a smart story. Just let me know.
