I love books, and I really love the stage, but in recent years, I’ve begun creating more and more work for a variety of new electronic media. I’ve written a few short films, collaborated with photographers and filmmakers and musicians, and created a few pieces intended to be listened to via iPod. I’ve gone all-in for transmedia storytelling, and I’m pleased to be able to share a few of those projects here.
Truth be told, I have big multi-media ambitions. They’ve been developing, really, throughout the last decade and a half, during which I’ve been engaging with digital communication on several different levels: writing for the web, crafting interactive experiences, building apps, developing digital strategies for non-profit clients, and interacting on social media channels. The metaphors governing the ways in which we create and consume culture are evolving radically, and I like being part of that evolution.
Bottom line: I’m convinced that transmedia is the future—both my own and the world’s—and I look forward to more and more discovery. (Google Glass-enhanced stories, anyone?) I’m a storytelling scientist: I live to experiment. So consider me ready and willing to take on whatever media you might be inclined to engage in.
