I am very, very happy to be able to announce, at long last, that I’ve joined the Taffety Punk Theatre Company as Resident Playwright.
Man, does that feel good.
In some ways, this is just a natural progression of my relationship with the T-Punks, which started several years ago with the production of my play LET X. We have worked together a lot over the years, and I even sit on the company’s board. I am deeply proud of everything we have done together.
We are kicking off the residency with a bootleg production of my play REALS, which the company will mount next season. (The production, here in DC, will be streamed live on the internet via Arena Stage’s #NewPlay channel, too!) We will also be working together in a variety of other ways. I’m currently writing a one-act for the company’s April production, and I’ll also be moonlighting as a dramaturg and literary manager. Most exciting, perhaps, will be working with the company on new devised pieces, which should be a blast.
Yeah…I’m pretty excited. I love these folks. I’m honored to be one of them.
Congrats Gwydion, I’ve always enjoyed your collaborations with Taffety in the past.
Thank you, Joe. I hope the new and clever things we (hopefully) do together continue to earn high marks!
Congratulations, Gwydion! I hope this is a fabulous collaboration for all involved.
Thanks, my friend! I hope the very same thing.
Waa hoo!! That is all 🙂
Thanks, TRB! Can’t wait to get the chance to work on something with you, too, one of these days!
So happy for you!
Thanks, Jen! Now… what was that about you directing something of mine? I seem to remember a tweet not that long ago, my dear friend!
So happy for you, Gwydion. Congratulations! xo
Thank you, Heather! xo to you and to the whole family
You’re going to live at the theater? But what about the wife and child?!
Congrats, Gwydion! Fantastic news.
Thanks, Chuck! Of course, the company itself is only resident at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop — it doesn’t own a venue — so I’ll happily stay at home with the family 🙂
Major Congrats, hubs! But whyyyyyyy does the Bootleg Production have to be on a Tuesday?
Sorry, dear! But seriously: just the thought that you would have come down if it were a weekend makes me all happy inside! xo
However: it will be streamed online, thanks to Arena Stage, so you can watch there if you’re so inclined! Details to come….
