I love writing. Because I love writing, I also love: a) Being commissioned to write, and b) Being awarded for having done so. Yes, I’m going to write whether anybody pays me up front to do it or not, and yes, I know I’m not really supposed to care about awards… but come on, they’re both super-nice. I’m not afraid to admit it… or to crow a little bit about my successes in both areas.
I’m also very proud to be able to say that my work as a digital strategist has also earned significant industry recognition. When a website I’ve had a hand in developing gets recognized, my real pleasure is the extra burst of rocket fuel it gives the organizations and brands I’m supporting. There’s nothing like watching the traffic to a website suddenly mushroom when an award is announced: the digital eyes of the world are upon you, and it feels like a million bucks.
